Memoria, mito y paisaje: el monumento a la resistencia en Cuneo de Aldo Rossi

El estudio analiza el proyecto del monumento a la Resistencia en Cuneo de Aldo Rossi a partir de las referencias que el propio arquitecto hace de esta obra en la Autobiografía científica (1981) y en uno de sus quaderni azzurri (1972).La hipótesis que propone el estudio es demostrar que el proyecto de Cuneo es una obra que materializa una idea de rito que el autor ya recoge en La arquitectura de la ciudad al considerar que los monumentos son elementos conservadores de los mitos cuando acogen determinadas formas rituales. Se trata, además, de una obra fundamental para aproximarse a los primeros proyectos de Aldo Rossi que se vinculan con el “realismo”, una categoría que centra el debate sobre la naturaleza de la arquitectura en la Italia de la segunda posguerra, y a su posición como autor en aquel momento.

El museo en la arquitectura docente de Mies van der Rohe

Mies van der Rohe exploró el proyecto de museo como arquitecto y como docente, y confirió un nuevo entendimiento acerca del significado del mismo: un espacio destinado al disfrute del arte. Si bien los museos que Mies realizó en su estudio han sido publicados y analizados por la crítica, se desconoce la investigación académica que desarrolló en torno a esta tipología. Por ello, el presente artículo tiene por objeto: dar a conocer los proyectos-museo que Mies supervisó en el programa de postgrado del IIT -en concreto las tesis fin de máster de Daniel Brenner, Jean Lippert y Peter Carter; realizar un estudio comparativo de dichas tesis, tomando como base los conceptos que el propio Mies manifestó en el texto del Museo para una Pequeña Ciudad; y exponer las invariantes que se mantienen en estos espacios destinados a la fiesta del arte, estableciendo conexiones entre la arquitectura del maestro y la de sus alumnos.

Estructuras desplegables para actividades lúdicas

El artículo hace una revisión de distintas propuestas que se han desarrollado para las actividades de ocio o intercambio comercial, como ferias o mercadillos. Son construcciones en las que la transportabilidad, ligereza y facilidad de erección son determinantes. Se proponen algunas soluciones novedosas de estructuras desplegables, que tienen unas características muy adecuadas para estas funciones. Se hace un somero repaso de las cubiertas textiles y los sistemas de plegado conjunto con el paquete de barras. La tipología analizada es la de módulos oblicuos, poco analizada hasta el presente, y de manera especial, sombrillas, cubiertas a dos aguas y cúpulas piramidales. Se considera que son tres tipologías de gran utilidad para construir recintos transportables, sencillos y eficientes para el desarrollo de actividades lúdicas y de pequeño comercio. También son fácilmente adaptables a situaciones de emergencia, objeto principal de nuestra investigación.

Existe un lugar imaginario que precede y en el que se asienta la actividad creativa de Jørn Utzon. En el desarrollo de este artículo nos proponemos, a través del estudio de sus obras y escritos, desvelar este universo imaginario del que nace cada una de sus propuestas arquitectónicas, con el objetivo de conocer más acerca no sólo de su obra, que es amplia y compleja, sino también de ese mundo personal, ese mundo de las ideas, del que surge ésta, de modo que nos lleve a entender un tanto más el origen y el desarrollo de su actividad creativa.

La arquitectura religiosa europea en el marco de la modernidad

Hablar de la introducción de la modernidad en el campo de la arquitectura religiosa puede parecer una paradoja, ya que los promotores de esta última debían mantener una actitud de custodia y continuación de una tradición. Sin embargo, podremos comprobar cómo la moderna construcción de iglesias surgió de la convergencia de una nueva visión teológica y de una nueva visión arquitectónica, coincidentes ambas en sus aspiraciones: la creación de una arquitectura que captase las cualidades básicas del nuevo mundo. El objetivo de este estudio consiste en mostrar los fundamentos que propiciaron el cambio tan radical en la manera de construir iglesias que se produjo en toda Europa desde los inicios del siglo XX.
