Robert R Fayzullin

Robert R. Fayzullin (born in Kazan) graduated from the Butlerov Institute of Chemistry at Kazan University in 2012. He received his Ph.D. in 2015 from the Arbuzov Institute of Organic and Physical Chemistry, where he completed his doctoral studies in the Laboratory of Stereochemistry. In 2017, he joined the Laboratory of Diffraction Research Methods at the same Institute, where he currently leads the Quantum Crystallography & Quantum Chemistry research group. In 2023, he was awarded the IUCr Struchkov Prize for his contributions to the real-space interpretation of chemical bonding based on the combined analysis of one-electron potentials and their associated force fields, derived from high-resolution X-ray diffraction data. His current research interests include: (i) interatomic interactions and chemical bonding; (ii) charge transfer phenomenon; (iii) local charge (re)distribution; (iv) electronic force fields; (v) atoms in molecules and crystals; (vi) force-field pseudoatoms in molecules and crystals; (vii) chemical structure evolution; (viii) chemical structure descriptors; (ix) quantum chemical topology; (x) quantum crystallography; (xi) crystal structure determination.
