Antonio Giovanni Solimando
About
Graduated from Bari Medical School University, Italy, in 2011 (Magna cum Laude), MD PhD from 2020, Internal Medicine Specialist, is an attendant physician, Clinical and Research Scientist in internal medicine since 2012. He has been active in both, clinical and pre-clinical translational research activities at the Internal Medicine Unit, Department of Biomedical Sciences and Human Oncology at Bari Medical School University. Focusing on the field of hematology he investigates the interactions of multiple myeloma and the tumor microenvironment. In October 2014 he started an international fellowship in the Department of Medicine II at Würzburg University Hospital and joined the Experimental Stem Cell Laboratory to investigate dynamic interactions of malignant plasma cells with the bone marrow niche environment in preclinical models. To gain better insights into these complex processes he employs state-of-the-art imaging techniques to ultimately translate his findings into improved diagnostics and therapies. Dr. Solimando is an academic researcher (Tenure Track as RTD-b), assistant Professor at Bari University, Department of Biomedical Scientist and Human Oncology.
