Julian Yin Borges
About
MD, MS, Associate Professor of Medicine (Endocrinology)
Board Certification in Endocrinology and Metabolism by SBEM/CFM/AMB and
Board Certification in Clinical Nutrition by ABRAN/CFM/AMB.
Dr. Borges is a board-certified endocrinologist and digital health innovator working at the intersection of clinical medicine, artificial intelligence, and precision therapeutics. Currently a scholar in Harvard Medical School’s Global Clinical Scholars Research Training (GCSRT) program and pursuing an MS in Health Informatics at Boston University, he is passionate about transforming molecular insights into scalable, AI-driven interventions that optimize human health.
He is the Founder and Principal Investigator of the MitoCoreX Project, an AI-powered discovery and development platform focused on designing next-generation therapeutics. MitoCoreX identifies novel small molecules and peptides that enhance mitochondrial biogenesis, energy efficiency, and cellular resilience to optimize mitochondrial function. Target indications include aging-related diseases, neurodegenerative conditions, and metabolic optimization. The platform integrates:
Multi-agent AI systems
Genomics-aware targeting
In silico biological simulations
Beyond drug discovery, Dr. Borges’ broader current research integrates:
AI model auditing in genomics-based diagnostics
Hybrid workflows in STATA and Python for causal inference and explainability
Multi-omics integration and biomarker-driven personalization
Evidence synthesis (PRISMA, STROBE), clinical trial design, and bioethics
He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Epidemiology and Public Health Research and as an Academic Editor for PLOS Digital Health. He is also a peer reviewer for leading journals such as the European Heart Journal – Digital Health and the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology.
Dr. Borges is committed to accelerating the development of precision therapeutics through rigorous study design, ethical innovation, and translational impact—bridging healthspan extension with advances in clinical and preventive medicine.
