Professor (1976-1979) at São Carlos Federal University (UFSCar), Professor (1979-2006), Full Professor (2006- ) at Para State Federal University (UFPA). Expert in Experimental Analysis of Behavior has conducted research grants on pre-symbolic behavior, stimulus control, stimulus class formation, identity, and conceptual matching to sample in Sapajus sp (tufted capuchin monkeys). From 2002 to 2010 taught? Advanced Studies in Experimental Analysis of Behavior? the core discipline of the Theory and Research of Behavior Ph.D. Program. Lead the project for the creation of the Center for Theory and Research of Behavior, at UFPA, founded in 2009. Director (Aug 2009-Aug 2013). Works in a research program entitled Experimental School for Primates since 1993, a laboratory devoted to studies of the prerequisites of symbolic behavior in capuchin monkeys (Sapajus sp). Research interests in Stimulus Control, conditional discrimination, stimulus classes, and generalized identity with capuchin monkeys. CNPq Post-doctoral fellow at The New England Center for Children, EEUU, with Murray Sidman (1990-1992). Professor at the Theory and Research of Behavior Graduate Program from 1987 to 2013. Supervisor of fellows undergrad, 32 Masters, 8 Ph.D. students. Since April 2014 is Professor at the Neurosciences and Behavior Graduate Program. Leader of the project for the creation of the Neurosciences and Behavior Graduate Program and first Chair from 2014 to 2016. Associate Editor of the Brazilian Journal of Behavior Analysis (2005-2009), Editor (2010-2011, Volumes 5-6). Editorial Counselor Acta Comportamentalia (1993-2007). Member of the Advisor Committee in Psychology at CNPq (2004-2007). President of the Sociedade Brasileira de Psicologia ? SBP (2000-2001). Leads a research group "Experimental Analysis of Behavior", made up of behavior analysts, and software engineers interested in research software for behavior research and intervention. Vice-Coordinator of the Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia sobre Comportamento, Cognição e Ensino, Coordinated by Prof. Deisy de Souza from UFSCar, (2010-2016). Coordinator of concluded research projects supported by CNPq, CAPES, FINEP e NIH. Has published dozens of papers, mostly reports of research on animal behavior analysis and stimulus control since 1978.
