About

Summary:

Dr Alexander Lukin is a preeminent researcher in the field of energetic materials, solid propellant combustion and low-dimensional carbon nanomaterials. He currently serves as the principal research scientist and executive director at the Western-Caucasus Research Center in the Western Caucasus region of Russia.

Dr Lukin holds expert positions with the Russian Academy of Sciences, Federal Register of Experts under the Russian Ministry of Education and Science (Space and Transport Systems), and is an Honorary Fellow at the Australian Institute of High Energetic Materials. He is an Associate Fellow and Lifetime Member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), serving on several committees including the Solid Rockets Technical Committee and the United Nations Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space Working Group. Globally, he holds advisory roles at institutions like Donghua University's State Key Lab in Shanghai, Shaanxi Research Institute, and Northwestern Polytechnic University in China. He is a Lifetime Member of India's High Energy Materials Society and the Russian Combustion Institute Section. Demonstrating his scientific eminence, Dr. Lukin serves on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals including Defense Science Journal (India), Defense Technology Journal, International Journal of Aeronautical Science & Aerospace Research, and the World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology Editorial Advisory Board on Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering.

Research Background:

Dr Lukin's academic credentials demonstrate his expertise in rocket propulsion engineering and physics. He holds an M.S. in Rocket Propulsion Engineering (Diploma of Excellence, 1985) from Izhevsk State Technical University and a Ph.D. in Physics & Mathematics (1993) from the Physics-Technical Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. His doctoral thesis explored mathematical modeling of intra-ballistic processes in solid rocket motor pyrotechnic ignition systems, showcasing his analytical skills and deep understanding of intricate processes in this domain.

Over the past 35 years, Dr Lukin has intensely investigated the challenging issue of combustion instability in solid propulsion systems, making notable contributions. His innovative concepts and strategies have advanced next-generation controllable solid propulsion systems, enabling more precise thrust control and extreme thrust modulation capabilities. In a groundbreaking achievement, Dr Lukin developed a nanotechnology-driven approach to significantly enhance the energy release efficiency of nanoenergetic materials without altering their chemical composition.

Metrics description
h-index
A scientist has an h-index if h of his N publications are cited at least h times each, while the remaining (N - h) publications are cited no more than h times each.
i10-index
The number of the author's publications that received at least 10 links each.
m-index
The researcher's m-index is numerically equal to the ratio of his h-index to the number of years that have passed since the first publication.
o-index
The geometric mean of the h-index and the number of citations of the most cited article of the scientist.
g-index
For a given set of articles, sorted in descending order of the number of citations that these articles received, the g-index is the largest number such that the g most cited articles received (in total) at least g2 citations.
w-index
If w articles of a researcher have at least 10w citations each and other publications are less than 10(w+1) citations, then the researcher's w-index is equal to w.
