Graduated in Dentistry from the Federal University of Bahia (1993), Master in Dentistry with a concentration in Stomatology from the Federal University of Bahia (2001), PhD in Human Pathology from the Gonçalo Moniz Research Center / Oswaldo Cruz Foundation / BA (2004), Post-Doctorate in Medicine and Human Health from the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health (2007), Free Lecturer in Bioethics from the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia (FMB-UFBA). Full Professor at the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health from 2005 until May 2017, currently a Visiting Researcher at EBMSP. Professor in the Department of Preventive and Social Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of UFBA and permanent professor of the Postgraduate Programs in Health, Environment, and Work (FMB-UFBA). Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Medicine and Health (FMB-UFBA) 2019-2023, currently adjunct coordinator. Teaches Bioethics, Biostatistics, and Scientific English Practice. Preceptor of the Multiprofessional Residency Program, Hospital Dentistry at the HUPES Complex, and the Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery UFBA/OSID where she develops research in the areas of facial reconstruction, TMJ surgery, and gender surgery and their relationships with quality of life and work. Full Member of the Brazilian College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Traumatology, Fellow of the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (IAOMS), Fellow of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, Researcher in the area of Quality of Life, responsible for psychometric analysis in quality of life and other perception instruments of the Infectology Research Laboratory of HUPES-UFBA. She is a member of the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies (ISQOLS) and the International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL), Co-Chair of the ISOQoL Developing Nations SIG. She works in the following areas of interest: validation and development of psychometric instruments, health-related quality of life in patients with chronic and infectious diseases, and Quality of life in worker's health. Founding member and current coordinator of the Transdisciplinary Research and Education Center in Bioethics (NETBIO) of the Faculty of Medicine of the Federal University of Bahia. Coordinator of the AISL-UFBA International Agreement. Vice-coordinator of the Ethics and Research Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of Bahia. Member of the editorial board (Review Editor) of Frontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine. Editor of scientific integrity of the Journal of evidence-based healthcare. Member of the Academy of Sciences of Bahia and PQ2 CNPq researcher.
