About

Vasiliki Maria Iliadou is a full Professor of Psychoacoustics in Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Witha rich tenure at Aristotle University, our team's in-depth exploration inpsychoacoustics has led to notable strides in medical research andneuroscience. The establishment of the European APD Group and our collaborativeefforts have been pivotal in refining diagnostic and therapeutic methods thatserve communities throughout Europe. Our efforts highlight the interconnectionbetween hearing capacity and cognitive abilities across the lifespan. Mostvulnerable populations are the elderly with loss of hearing capacity as well as the young children before cognition consolidation.

In parallel, my leadership in the APD Master's program and the APD Clinic bridges the gap between academic instruction, clinical practice, and scientific inquiry. Our organization fosters academic growth whileproviding essential clinical services, reinforcing our dedication to advancingpsychoacoustics and cultivating future specialists in the field. The need forbetter education for health care professionals as well as educators andtherapists is essential for provision of individualized rehabilitation in caseof hearing impairment. Use and formulation of AI in assistive technologies andauditory training programs should include current scientific knowledge to bemore accessible to individuals at the different stages in life as well as for those with disabilities.
