Ana Isabel Lemos do Carmo Pereira holds a Ph.D. in Musicology, specialization in Teaching and Psychology of Music, from NOVA University of Lisbon (2019). She completed her master's degree in Teaching Music in Basic Education at NOVA FCSH (2014) and her undergraduate studies in Environmental Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico - University of Lisbon (1999). Her doctoral research, undertaken as a fellow of the Doctoral Program by NOVA FCSH - FCT, focused on the influence of singing with text and a neutral syllable on Portuguese children's vocal performance, song recognition, and use of singing voice. She has been an integrated member of Centro de Estudos de Sociologia e Estética Musical (CESEM) at NOVA FCSH since 2014, assuming the position of Executive Secretary from 2023 to 2025, and the coordinator of the Education and Human Development Research Group since 2021. She has been an Assistant Professor at NOVA FCSH since 2023, where she coordinates the Master's in Teaching Music in Basic Education and co-coordinates the Post-graduate course "Music in Early Childhood: Intervention and Research". She has been an Invited Assistant Teacher at Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa - Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa (ESELx-IPL) since 2015. Her main interests include studying musical learning and development and evaluating vocal performance in children.
