Ахмад Джамиль

Dr. Jameel Ahmad is a distinguished academic who earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore. He also holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from UET Peshawar, an M.Sc. in Systems Engineering from Quaid-e-Azam University, and an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles. In recognition of his academic excellence, he received a prestigious scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Technology for his higher education. His research achievements include receiving the Best Researcher Award for a paper published in the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics.

Dr. Ahmad has a decade of experience teaching at the Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Engineering, University of Management and Technology (UMT), Lahore, where he served from 2010 to 2020. He is also HEC Approved Ph.D. Supervisor.

He demonstrated his leadership skills as Director of Final Year Projects for four years, reinforcing his commitment to academic excellence. During his studies in the USA, he gained valuable industry experience at Qualcomm and Broadcom Corporation in San Diego, focusing on 3G wireless communication systems.

His research interests cover a broad range of cutting-edge topics, including Machine Learning and Deep Learning for Smart Grids, the energy internet, Solar PV and Wind Energy, distributed control and optimization, cloud computing, and parallel and distributed computing, image processing and computer vision. He has contributed significantly to High-Performance Computing by utilizing NVIDIA GPUs on Google Colab, as well as in emerging fields like Federated Learning and Blockchain-based Cybersecurity for Smart Grids and Autonomous Vehicles. Recently, Dr. Ahmad published a paper on the cybersecurity of autonomous vehicles in Wiley and has another paper published in Applied Energy on the cybersecurity of smart microgrids. Also a paper is under production in IEEE Journal of Selected Areas of Communication with title: "Deep Learning-enabled RIS Massive MIMO Systems for Industrial IoT: A Joint Communication and Computation Approach".

Currently, as an Associate Professor at UMT, Lahore, Dr. Ahmad continues to excel in research and education. He also serves as the Director of Final Year Projects (FYP) in the Computer Science Department, where he leads Outcome-Based Education (OBE) initiatives and acts as the Focal Person for NGIRI, an organization that funds innovative FYPs. His contributions extend beyond academia, as he actively reviews for numerous IEEE and Elsevier journals and international conferences.

Dr. Ahmad's multifaceted contributions reflect his unwavering dedication to advancing knowledge, technology, and education. His extensive skill set and industry experience make him an invaluable asset to any academic institution.
