Ibrahim Waziri

I am Dr. Ibrahim Waziri, a chemist specializing in inorganic, organometallic, and materials chemistry witha strong interdisciplinary focus on medicinal and energy-related applications.My research spans the design, synthesis, and characterization of metal-basedcompounds, including Schiff base complexes, heterocyclic systems, and transitionmetals coordination frameworks, evaluated for antimicrobial, anticancer, andantiparasitic properties. I also integrate computational chemistry (DFT,molecular docking, MD simulations) to understand structure–activity relationships and mechanistic pathways.

Beyond therapeutic metal complexes, my recent work explores functional materials such as metal–organicframeworks (MOFs) and S-scheme heterojunction catalysts for water purification,pollutant degradation, and energy storage applications. My broader goal is tocontribute innovative chemical solutions to global challenges, particularlythose affecting low-resource regions, including Neglected Tropical Diseases and environmental contamination.

I am passionate about mentorship, scientific collaboration, and building research capacity in Nigeria and Africa.
