About

Opeyemi ANIRAMU (PhD), is a research scientist from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria. The research journey began with a simple but pressing question: how can GIscience help cities like Lagos live safely with water rather than constantly fight floods? How can tourism enhance land resource management in a tourist center environs? Through years of studying hydro-climatic patterns, land-use change, tourism activities, and urban flood dynamics, I combined GIS, remote sensing, perception knowledge system, and equation-based/AI-driven models to reveal how human activities amplify environmental challenges and risk vulnerabilities. By translating complex data into clear spatial insights, the research showed where vulnerabilities truly lie and which resilience strategies work best. Going forward, my previous work serves as both a roadmap and a toolkit. It demonstrates how interdisciplinary methods can strengthen environmental research, how local data can answer global questions, and how rigorous modelling can inform real policy decisions. Most importantly, it encourages fellow researchers to move beyond theory, grounding their studies in community needs and practical solutions that inspire collaboration, innovation, and shared scientific progress.

Metrics description
h-index
A scientist has an h-index if h of his N publications are cited at least h times each, while the remaining (N - h) publications are cited no more than h times each.
i10-index
The number of the author's publications that received at least 10 links each.
m-index
The researcher's m-index is numerically equal to the ratio of his h-index to the number of years that have passed since the first publication.
o-index
The geometric mean of the h-index and the number of citations of the most cited article of the scientist.
g-index
For a given set of articles, sorted in descending order of the number of citations that these articles received, the g-index is the largest number such that the g most cited articles received (in total) at least g2 citations.
w-index
If w articles of a researcher have at least 10w citations each and other publications are less than 10(w+1) citations, then the researcher's w-index is equal to w.
