Research directions
Tumor biology of CDK8/19
+
The project studies the role of transcriptional CDK8/19 kinases in the development of resistance to targeted chemotherapy. In particular, our group and collaborators have shown synergy of CDK8/19 inhibitors with approved inhibitors of EGFR (doi:10.3390/cells10010144.), BCR-Abl (doi:10.1038/s41420-025-02339-6), and others. Currently, the laboratory is implementing several projects studying the mechanisms of action of CDK8/19 inhibitors, and the role of these kinases in tumor development and metastasis.
CDK8/19 in tissue development and homeostasis
+
Our laboratory studies the role of CDK8/19 transcriptional kinases in embryonic development and post-embryonic development and homeostasis of different tissues. Our laboratory was the first to show the role of CDK8/19 in spermatogenesis and fertility in male mice (https://elifesciences.org/articles/96465). Currently, the laboratory studies the role of CDK8/19 in the immune system, metabolism regulation, neurogenesis, and other processes.
