Yulia V Nelyubina

• Interdisciplinary scientist, a physical chemist by training, with over 20 years research experience and an established record of scientific contributions to the fields of X-ray and quantum crystallography and material sciences;

• Author of over 500 papers (100+ as a first or last author) focused on data-driven design of new materials for spintronics, quantum technologies, catalysis, medicine and environmental sustainability (7000+ citations, H-index 36, Scopus, 05/2025);

• Speaker at 30+ international scientific conferences (7 as an invited speaker);

• Recipient of the L’Oreal-UNESCO Award “For Women in Science” (Russia) in 2012, Academia Europaea Prize in 2013 and the prestigious award from Moscow City Government in 2022;

• Founder of a multidisciplinary lab in material sciences, increasing staff to 25+ within 5 years driven by successful recruitment of undergraduates and securing substantial extramural funding;

• Founder of a large open-access analytical center (overall cost of equipment >1.5 MEur) for X-ray diffraction, NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, optical spectroscopy, thermal analysis and microscopy;

• Member of scientific and organizing committees for international conferences on molecular magnetism, crystallography and organoelement chemistry;

• Mentor of 4 Ph.D. and 10 MS and BS students, overseeing their research focused on in physical chemistry, coordination chemistry, polymer science and machine learning;

• Creator of innovative lecture courses for leading national universities, such as a post-graduate course on “Basics of scientific research” that teaches Ph.D. students how to become successful scientists;

• PI of 11 research projects from international and nationwide funding organizations, such as German Science Foundation (a collaboration with Johannes Gutenberg University);

• Visiting professor at University of Barcelona (Spain) and visiting researcher at Johannes Gutenberg University (Germany), Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion (Germany) and University of Manchester (UK) for international collaborations backed by Volkswagen Foundation, German Science Foundation and Royal Society of Chemistry;

• PI in 20+ research contracts with business organizations from pharmaceutical, petrochemical and polymer industries, including an ongoing machine-learning-oriented project with Tatneft (2025-2030); other contracts (2007 – 2024) included analytical projects with GaspromNeft, Apicenna, Neobiotech, ChemRar, TechnoChim, Scietegra, ValentaPharm, RUS BioPharm, PromoMED, Endocrinology Research Center;
