MUHAMMAD MUBEEN

Dr. Muhammad Mubeen is an associate professor in the Department of Humanities at COMSATS University Islamabad. He joined CUI in 2016; he worked as an Assistant Professor of History at the Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad (January 2014-July 2015), and the University of Gujrat, Gujrat, Pakistan (July 2015-February 2016). In January 2003, Dr. Mubeen completed his MSc in History from the Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. In 2007, he won the MS-Leading-to-Ph.D. scholarship from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan for France, where he completed his MS from the University of Limoges (2008) and Ph.D. from Centre d'Études de l'Inde et de l'Asie du Sud (CEIAS) – Center for Indian and South Asian Studies, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) – School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences, Paris, France (2013). Dr. Mubeen has taught and researched extensively on South Asian Studies; his major interests include political history, Sufi shrine culture, and geopolitics in and around South Asia. Since 2014, he has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels and supervised several MS/MPhil students. He presented several papers at international conferences during his doctoral research in France. He later published several research papers based on his research arena in reputed peer-reviewed academic journals. In addition, Dr. Mubeen has extensively participated in extracurricular activities of the universities he served in, especially in sports activities.
