Карки Бхишма
О себе
Dr Bhishma Karki is an accomplished physicist and researcher specialising in Materials Science, Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR), Surface Plasmons, Plasmonics, Nanophotonics, Optical Physics, and Applied Physics. His work bridges theoretical and experimental photonics, with a strong emphasis on nanomaterials, optical sensing, and photonic device engineering.
Dr. Karki holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Tribhuvan University, a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Pune (India), and a Ph.D. in Material Science from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has authored and co-authored more than 100 research papers in international journals covering topics such as wastewater treatment, catalysis, optics, nanotechnology, and materials chemistry.
Since 2019, he has been serving as the Executive Chairman of the National Research Council Nepal (NRCN) — the country’s leading governmental scientific body promoting multidisciplinary research and innovation. In addition, he is a Lecturer of Physics at Tri-Chandra Multiple Campus, affiliated with Tribhuvan University, and a Visiting Professor at Tuljaram Chaturchand College, Baramati, Pune, India.
Dr. Karki also serves as an Academic Editor for several international journals, including The Scientific World Journal (Wiley), Journal of Sensors (Wiley). His current research focuses on the design and simulation of nanostructured plasmonic sensors, surface plasmon resonance optimization, and optical detection mechanisms for biomedical and environmental applications.
He actively promotes international research collaboration between Nepal and India, as well as with other global partners, and is committed to advancing experimental and applied nanophotonics for societal and technological development.
