Kelli C Mariano

I’m a pharmacist, graduated from UNI ABC – Universidade do Grande ABC – in 2013 with a full scholarship from PROUNI. During my undergraduate studies, I started scientific research focused on hormone replacement therapies. I hold a master's degree in biosystems from UFABC, supported by a FAPESP scholarship. My research involved developing nanostructured systems for controlled drug delivery, specifically thermoreversible hydrogels combined with polymeric nanoparticles for intra-articular release — a project that resulted in a patent. Later, I pursued a Ph.D. in nanotechnology applied to pharmaceutical and biomedical fields, with a full CAPES scholarship. My focus was on creating innovative nanotechnological systems for controlled release.

I specialize in the development of pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations, with broad experience in designing effective delivery systems for both therapeutic and aesthetic applications. Between 2021 and 2023, I worked as a professor at Faculdades SENAI/SP, where I taught subjects like pharmacology, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, and pharmaceutics in the Pharmacy and Biotechnology programs. Currently, I’m a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amedea Barozzi Seabra. My research is focused on nanostructured biomaterials for the controlled release of bioactives in both medical and agricultural applications.

What truly drives me is the possibility of creating solutions that connect science and real-life impact — whether through research, teaching, or product development. I believe that innovation in pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations has the power to improve people’s health, well-being, and quality of life.
