Dr Dan Jones (PhD, MSc, BSc, MA, MEWI Cert) is the Managing Director of Advanced Invasives and an Honorary Research Associate in Swansea University’s Department of Biosciences. Dan applies novel methods including detection dogs, remote sensing, unique evidence-based treatment approaches and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) for the detection, mapping and management of invasive plants and non-agricultural weeds in commercial settings. Dan’s ongoing academic work addresses sustainable weed management, invasive plant ecology and ecophysiology, the use of detection dogs to locate invasive plants and habitat restoration. Dan has provided oral and written evidence to House of Commons Committees, produced government reports and delivered best practice guidance and evidence-based invasive plant solutions for a wide range of stakeholders.
