The main interest of the laboratory is to study the molecular mechanisms that ensure the performance of specialized functions of various types of CNS cells under normal and pathological conditions. The main directions of scientific activity:

1. Investigation of the mechanisms of epilepsy development The role of neuroinflammation in pharmacoresistant epilepsy in humans (operational material) Neurobiology of epilepsy based on the Krushinsky-Molodkina (KM) rat inbred line model with an emphasis on: Postnatal brain development and adult neurogenesis The effect of audiogenic seizures and the formation of limbic epilepsy in audiogenic kindling on hippocampal remodeling (molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration, GABA and glutamate ergic systems, neurogenesis, the role of neuroglia) The search for new approaches in the treatment of epilepsy.

2. Investigation of the effect of microgravity on models of gravitational unloading (anti-orthostatic hanging) in rodents with an emphasis on: hippocampal remodeling The functional state of the nigrostriatal system The role of mechanical stimulation of the feet as one of the methods of correcting brain disorders.

3. Investigation of the molecular mechanisms of neurodegeneration in in vitro cell models (a new direction).

  1. Western blot
  2. Real-time PCR (qPCR)
  3. Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
