Ахмад Ашфак

Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad is a Faculty member of Bioinformatics at Hazara University, Pakistan, with over thirteen years of teaching and research experience. He combines wet-lab experimentation and computational biology, specializing in de novo protein design, drug discovery, and molecular dynamics simulations. His current research explores HER+ cancers, neurological disorders, and the gut-brain axis, integrating AI, deep learning, and structural bioinformatics to accelerate therapeutic innovation.

He earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Xiamen University, China, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Structural Biology and Bioinformatics at the Southern University of Science and Technology, Shenzhen. Dr. Ahmad is the author of “Accelerating Drug Discovery: A Tutorial-Based Approach with Machine Learning” (2023) and has published extensively in high-impact journals, earning recognition among Elsevier and Stanford’s top 2% most productive scientists worldwide (2023).

Beyond research, he is an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE, serves on editorial boards, and actively trains the scientific community through workshops and his YouTube channel “Bioinformatics Insights.” His vision is to bridge artificial intelligence and molecular biology to drive transformative advances in healthcare and biotechnology.
