About

Getachew Dinede is a research officer at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) since April 2021. He has received his MPH in Epidemiology from Addis Ababa University, school of Public Health, Ethiopia in 2018 and DVM in Veterinary Medicine from Jimma University, Ethiopia in 2008. Prior to joining ILRI, he served as an epidemiologist at the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture (2015-2021), as a veterinarian at Benishangul-Gumuz Region Agricultural and Rural Development Bureau, Ethiopia (2013-2014); as a college instructor at Oromia Pastoral Areas Technical and Vocational Education and Training College, Oromia, Ethiopia (2010-2012) and at Mickey Leland College, Oromia, Ethiopia (Oct. 2008-Aug. 2009). He has a strong interest in areas of food safety, epidemiology, data analysis, scientific communication, disease surveillance, disease outbreak investigation, zoonosis, One Health, risk analysis.
