The laboratory is equipped with a unique Infinity Line biological sample analysis system from Abberior Instruments. It is an innovative microscope that combines the capabilities of fluorescence microscopy, confocal laser scanning microscopy and ultra-high resolution STED microscopy. The system is based on an Olympus IX83 inverted microscope with an automated slide table and an autofocus module. The device is controlled by the Imspector software from Abberior. Laser modules at 485 nm, 561 nm and 640 nm are used to excite fluorescence. A 775 nm laser module with an easy3D upgrade for 3D microscopy is used for STED imaging. The device has an adaptive lighting module to minimize photo discoloration and an adaptive optics system for clear visualization in the depth of the sample. The microscope is also equipped with an OKOLAB incubator chamber with heating and cooling functions, monitoring of CO2 and humidity levels, which allows for long-term intravital microscopy of cells and tissues.
