Mohnad I Abdalla
About
Dr. Mohnad Abdalla is an accomplished scientist and educator with extensive expertise in biochemistry, molecular biology, and structural biology. He holds a Doctor of Natural Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Science and Technology of China, where his research focused on the crystal structure of yeast monothiol glutaredoxin Grx6 in complex with a glutathione-coordinated [2Fe–2S] cluster.
Currently based in Jinan, Shandong, China, Dr. Mohnad has served as a postdoctoral researcher at several prestigious institutions, including the Pediatric Research Institute at the Children's Hospital affiliated with Shandong University, as well as the Department of Pharmaceutics, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cheeloo College of Medicine, Shandong University. and the Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Bioprocess Technology, part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research contributions span protein crystallization, computational biology, and drug discovery, particularly in addressing infectious diseases and cancer.
Dr. Mohnad's academic career also includes his tenure as an Assistant Professor at Shandong University, where he taught biochemistry and molecular biology, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. He has over 150 peer-reviewed publications to his name, cited more than 2,000 times (2024.12.01), reflecting a significant impact on his field. His work is featured in high-impact journals
