About
Micheline Draye is a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Savoie Mont Blanc EDYTEM Laboratory (2020-), where she has worked since 2005. She was the head of the “Green Chemistry” group (2006-2020) and associate Director of the LCME (2005-2016), University Savoie Mont Blanc. Pr. Draye’s research interests include organic synthesis, use of non conventional activation methods for organic synthesis, ionic liquids synthesis and use, biomass valorization, green/sustainable separation science and technology for pollution prevention and remediation, aqueous biphasic systems, hydrometallurgy and radiochemistry. She has also been an active advisor to governmental and industrial organizations (Duke COGEMA Stone & Webster, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, EDF, etc.) particularly concerning nuclear waste recycling and management. She served on the National Research Council’s Committee. She was for seven years an associate Professor at the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Chimie de Paris (ENSCP) where she conducted her research in the 'separation processes and radiochemistry group’. She worked for two years as a visiting scientist in the Nuclear Engineering Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (http://www.mit.edu/) after having received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Lyon.
